Conversations for the Synod<\/strong>

The Synod of Bishops consultation has now commenced and parishioners are invited to gather in small groups to discuss one or more of the topics for the Synod. This is a low key discussion with responses invited to the National Team by February 27.

The Coffee Conversation leaflet will be available in parishes for interested parishioners to assist in the conversation.

Catholic Mission: India COVID-19 Appeal<\/strong>

The aid agency, Catholic Mission, has launched an urgent appeal to provide immediate help for vulnerable communities devastated by COVID-19 in India.\u00a0 Well over 300,000 people have died from the illness in India and hospitals have been struggling to cope. Support for the House of Welcome<\/strong>

The House of Welcome works with people seeking asylum and refugees to provide critical casework, housing, employment, food bank and emergency living assistance. During COVID-19 the demand for financial assistance has risen. HoW has increased the Emergency Living Package program by 216% to respond to the amplified levels of distress and hardship amongst their clients. In the last few months House of Welcome has delivered emergency assistance and been able to support clients to maintain their tenancies and assisted those who have come to the\u00a0centre\u00a0homeless. There are a number of ways that you can help such as donating to the Emergency Relief Package or donate staple food items to the House of Welcome foodbank (see attached\u00a0flyer<\/a>\u00a0for items needed).
